Recycling glass containers is a very
simple action that brings great
benefits to the environment:

• It foments the circular economy and protects biodiversity. Depending on the type, the new glass containers can contain up
  to 90% recycled glass. Thanks to this, consumption of natural raw materials (sand, feldspars and limestone) and their extraction are reduced, which helps to conserve natural resources and protect ecosystems.
• It confronts climate change. By using recycled glass empties or cullet in the manufacture of new containers, the fusion temperature in the furnace is lower than that required when only natural raw materials are used. Consequently, less energy is consumed and fewer greenhouse gases are generated.
• It prevents the growth of landfills and waste being left on the streets or in nature.
